Raymond Weil is one of a limited number of Swiss watch companies that are still family owned and independent. The company was founded in 1976 by Mr. Raymond Weil. From 1996 until 2014 the CEO was Mr. Weil's son-in-law, Olivier Bernheim. The current CEO, Elie Bernheim, is Mr. Weil's grandson. For example, the new Nabucco series feature a 46mm case, power reserve indicator and the use of carbon fiber materials. The Freelancer collection is all mechanical with a visible balance wheel. The Maestro collection features date, day, month, week number and moon phase added to an automatic movement generating a 42 hour power reserve.
