Chopard Watches History and Collection
Chopard is a Geneva-based luxury watch, jewelry, and accessories company founded in 1860 by Louis-Ulysse Chopard. Initially the company focused on developing explicit pocket watches and chronometers with creativity, technology and excellence. Chopard manufactures their own watch movements rather than using base movements of other manufacturers.
In 1920, the company got relocated from Sonvilier to Geneva. 1976 saw the introduction of the Chopard Happy Diamonds Collection that featured mobile diamonds that floated freely between two transparent sapphire crystals. The Chopard Happy Diamonds Collection is one of the most iconic, unique and desired watches ever created. Sport watches on leather straps debuted in 1980 as the Chopard brand in cooperation with Mille Miglia, an annual Italian rally where classic and vintage cars participate, started an annual tradition of creating special edition Chopard Mille Miglia models every year. In 1993, Chopard launched the Happy Sport Collection. The Chopard company has developed a vast variety of watch collections including quartz, mechanical timepieces and technically approved classic and sporty ones.
Chopard Watches Official Partnerships and Foundations
In 1998, the Chopard also became the official partners with Cannes film festival. Chopard was there to promote creativity in films and has given an award to young actors since 2001. Chopard also has taken part in giving back to charity by cooperating with the Elton John AIDS Foundation. On the 60th anniversary of Canne Film Festival in 2007, Chopard developed the Red Carpet Collection in conjunction with famous designer Valentino.
Chopard Watches Today
By 2007, Chopard has opened boutiques in New York, City, Beverly Hills, Palm Beach, Boston, San Francisco and Puerto Rico and numerous stores worldwide. The watches are meticulously handcrafted and designed with fine craftsmanship, a perennial fascination with modern technology, and a singular devotion to the world of art.
