TW Steel Watch Background and young History
TW Steel or The Watch in Steel is characterized by blingy and massive timepieces. TW Steel watches started when a young Dutch boy took his father's interest and do it for a living. The young Jordy Coblelens followed his fathers footsteps, Ton Cobelens, and soon after spending a year in Germany studying the art of Horology, opened his own outlet.
Jordy and his father developed their own watch brand and the concept of TW Steel was launched in 2005. Jordy headed the TW Steel brand and developed the TW Steel watch.
In 2006, TW Steel hired a Chinese manufacturer to produce 400 each of 4 different designs that Ton and Jordy had produced. All of the pieces were immediately sold in Dutch distributors of fine jewerly and demand was evident. The prototypes were increased to 11 and have mulitplied to 100 models available today. TW Steel has now stores in Thailand, Hong Kong and Australia and is sold in over 25 countries worldwide. TW Steel is now currently the number one watch brand in the niche of oversized watches starting from 45mm.
